Most Wanted

Taking a break from reading La Chanson de Roland and Lanval for my French Literature class. I'm only taking four classes this semester, but it feels like French lit will take most of my time and energy. I decided to start keeping a journal with me at all times, so I bought two small moleskines to keep in my purse or backpack. I sometimes randomly remember a memory or have a quick thought about something really insightful, and I never right it down so I lose it all. That will change.

Persona Board

So I was on tumblr the other night, and one of the people I follow/follows me made a Persona Board image, and I've always seen these on other blogs and they looks so amazing and I've always wanted to do one. So I was bored that same night, grabbed a few items from around my room and got this.

The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. This is one of my favorite books as well as one of the few books that makes me feel absolutely crazy when I read it.

The French dictionary was the first one I ever owned. It's really outdated and not useful most of the time, but I’ve had it for almost 9 years and my uncle Danny gave it to me when he found out I was taking french.

The scissors and thread. I have been sewing since I was 13, so I literally have a million spools of thread all over my room always and a box full of scissors.

Minolta AL-F rangefinder. I’ve been into photography for a few years now, using digital, and I just recently started trying to use film. Film is fairly new to me but I am really enjoying it so far. I'm hoping it brings a nice change in my life somehow.

Postcard and envelope in the top right corner. Basically everyone I know knows how much I love french, so I always get weird little things from people, like that vintage postcard which is the coolest thing ever, and the envelope behind it was given to me by my friend Jad. It says Par Avion on it :3

Field Guide To Seashore Creatures. Ever since I started taking oceanography classes in high school, I have been very interested in marine biology and studying things about the ocean. I did a really nerdy National Ocean Sciences Bowl team in high school and was the captain my senior year. We almost got third place. It was really sad that we didn’t place. Anyways, my AP Environmental Science teacher was in charge of the team and I spent almost every day after school in her class room studying and helping her with projects. She got me that book for a graduation gift.

The necklace. I rarely wear jewelry besides earrings, but I love this necklace. My mom rented two rooms from a lady that worked with her when she divorced my dad. We lived there for ten years and Paula basically was like my grandma. She never had kids and she spoiled me and my sister sometimes. She went to Seattle one year to see her brother and she brought me back that necklace.

The shells. This past summer, I rode my bike to the beach to watch the sunrise  too many times to count. There's something about the sunrises that makes starting the day enjoyable. I walk from one pier to the other searching the sand for signs of color and sometimes I find pretty little shells. I used to know the names of all those shells, but I've totally forgotten. Good thing I've got that field guide haha!

Lastly, the notebook and pens. I sort of started a journal but it's not like a thing I keep up with every day. I will randomly jot down thoughts or draw something, and sometimes I forget I have it for months at a time, but whenever I think of something I want to remember, I write it down. And those are the only pens I ever write with. I'm super picky about writing with anything else, especially pencils. I hate pencils.
