Bavaria Bavaria
It has been a long time since I posted. I wanted to make an update this sunday to say a few things.
I'n now in Germany, living with a family as their Au Pair. The city of Munich is so beautiful I can't even begin to describe. The architecture, the people, the culture. I've been completely immersed into a new way of life and I love it. I could see myself living in this city, as long as my german got better.
The House I am living in is this three story german home on the corner of a street. the yard is filled with lots of flowers and plants and beautiful green trees. I live in the basement of the home, where I have my own bathroom and bedroom. It's cold down here most of the time, but I'm adjusting to it well. One thing I have had to get used to is the light switches here, on is down and off is up, something odd to me.
There are three children, Felice, the youngest at five years old. She is very energetic and likes to tell stories and be the center of attention. She is the one who shows the most affection right away. When I drop her off at school she gives me a hug and a kiss and says "bonne journée catherine" before she runs off. Fleur is the second youngest, seven years old and she is very different from her sister. She is very intelligent and creative and more reserved that Felice. When you have her alone, she likes to tell you about things and she teaches me a lot of french words I didn't know already. But, she is more of a drama queen. She provokes her brother and sister a lot, mostly her brother, and then they will fight and she will get hurt and cry. Friedrich is the oldest, ten years old, and he too is different from both Felice and Fleur. He is very smart and loves history and football. He is the most rejecting of me I think, just tries to keep me at a distance. I have to work hard to get his attention and get him to talk to me, but once I do, he is a great kid.
I really am happy about my decision to com here. Katya and Götz are amazing parents and really nice to me and very welcoming.
I'm really excited to finally adjust to living here and become more familiar with the town so that I can meet more people my own age and such. munich seems so big to me but apparently it's not as big as i think it is haha.

I have been recently scanning and going through all of my mom's photos and collecting memories from them. I love seeing my mom, my grandparents and great grandparents when they were younger and seeing where I got all my good looks from hehe. there's something about all these old photos that makes me feel ten times closer to my family. As much as I try to act like my family hasn't impacted me, I now realize that they, especially the women in my family have had the greatest impact on my life. My great-grandma, who we just call Sugar because she insists she hates being called grandma or granny, tells brilliant stories of our family in better times. I want my family in current times to go back to this. good stories, not bad ones. I want to bring nothing but good to my life and show that everything anyone has done to me is for goodness. I want to post a ton more photos, but im going to save them for another post, where you will see how much my mom and I look like we could be twins and how all the women in my family practically could all be sisters.
